Did
you
know
that when a Law Enforcement K-9 retires here in Pasco County, he/she receives no medical benefits? These K-9 Heroes put their lives on the line and put their bodies through extreme physical conditions, which means that these dogs always need long-term medical care. That said, the Officer/Deputy that takes them home as a member of the family is solely responsible for the cost. We firmly believe that these wonderful K-9 Heroes, having served their community, deserve the benefit of full medical coverage in retirement. That’s where we step in.
WHO WE ARE
Pasco’s Retired K-9 Fundraiser was founded by Gail Cooper in 2007. The Retired K-9 Classic Golf Tournament raises funds to cover the medical expenses for Pasco’s Retired K-9 Heroes. The annual tournament is led by Thomas DeLuca and his team and is entirely volunteer run.
WHAT WE DO
This program helps support the Retired Law Enforcement K-9s of Pasco County so that they can receive full medical coverage without limitation.
HOW WE DO IT
We raise funds throughout the year from charitable donations and our flagship fundraiser, the Annual Retired K-9 Classic Golf Tournament. Funds raised cover veterinary services provided by Dr. Blake and his team at Blake Veterinary Hospital in Dade City.
